passion | humanity | individuality

About Heartworn:

Heartworn is a celebration of Passion, Humanity, and Individuality, or P.H.I., this is our P.H.I.losophy. Our tagline "Wear It On Your Sleeve" is an invitation to show who you truly are and express yourself however you see fit shamelessly. With that in mind the brand's creator Modi wanted to lead by example and put himself out there by exposing his art to the world as a form of self expression via the medium of fashion, as his art is an unadulterated window into his own mind and soul. However, the goal of Heartworn moving forward is to create a community around this movement who stand by these principles and collaborate with the brand in any way possible to keep it fresh, honest, and true to the people it seeks to represent and who represent it. That is why if you wish to give input or ideas on future designs, collaborate with the brand artistically, or be a part in any other way that you see fit Modi encourages you to get in contact with him directly using our contact page to see how we can make it happen! With that community aspect in mind, Heartworn is highly dedicated to keeping its entire supply chain as local as possible to support the community that supports this brand and brough it to life in the first place as much as possible, while marrying high quality and low ecologic cost. Our blanks are created within the Americas, sourced from a U.S. based company, and printed at a local Seattle print shop where Modi can pick the product up in person to save another stage of shipping and maintain high quality control.

About Modi:

Modi is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer born and raised in Seattle, WA. At a young age he fell in love with drawing obsessively to the point where his parents and teachers would try to force him to stop so that he would pay attention in school. Little did they know that he was already practicing for his career path in the arts and building the foundation necessary to take him where he longed to go. At 18 he moved to San Francisco to attend the University of San Francisco's design program so that he could find a "viable" career in the arts as a graphic designer. While there he found that graphic design was far too stifling for his creative ambitions as the end product never truly felt like a part of him and everyone demanded that there are "rules" to successful design. One inherent truth Modi had held onto since his young days drawing in school was that rules naturally limit creativity. The only path to true creativity and self expression is to only follow the rules the artist creates for their self either in life, in their chosen style, or the parameters they give their self for a single piece. So after 6 long years he came back to Seattle to manifest his ambitions and create a community based around true free self expression and creativity, and thus Heartworn was born.
